Breitling Navitimer 1461 Ltd. Ed. Triple Calendar Chronograph Wristwatch
 
OK, I bought this watch for me. Always wanted one, finally bought one, so you would think I would be happy. I was delirious when it came in, and then I took a good look. It was new. I don’t just mean in new condition -- the bloody thing has never been worn and in fact still had the plastic protective sticker on the watch face, and every bit of Breitling documentation that it came with when it was purchased in Aruba.
 
For the life of me, I cannot figure out why you would purchase a expensive watch in a vacation destination and then never wear it. I guess there is a story to be told, perhaps a very interesting one, but I digress.
 
Therefore, here is my issue. After spending years searching out original, unmolested antiquities and especially classic cars, I have a real psychological aversion to removing things like original stickers. Sounds stupid, but I can’t do it, and if I did I would always regret messing up the originality of the watch.
 
What is really amusing is that as soon as Janice saw it she laughed, knowing that I would not be able to wear the damned thing without regretting the removal of that one stupid sticker.
 
So I am going to pass it on to someone who has no issuers with peeling off the damned sticker.
 
I will regret passing it on but the silver lining is I can look forwards to finding another, not quite so perfect, Navitimer.
